The Fairfax New Logo.PNG

Established in 1989 by the non-profit Army Retirement Residence Foundation-Potomac (ARRF-P), The Fairfax is a unique military retirement community that serves retired officers and their spouses from the U.S. Uniformed Services, CIA, FBI, Foreign Service and other Federal Agencies- as well as the parents of active and retired military personnel.

Residents enjoy independent living on our beautiful 60 acre campus with walking trails, indoor pool, tennis courts, a putting green and a seven acre lake and nature preserve. The Fairfax offers a variety of living options including  apartments and  cottages. If health care needs increase, the Belvoir Wood Health Care Center can provide amenities and services within our assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing neighborhoods.

The Fairfax  Resident Association

The Residents Council serves the residents at The Fairfax through committees and liaison positions with Sunrise management. Each building has two Council representatives, those reps work with Sunrise management to assist in potential problem solving and ensuring that residents feel that The Fairfax is their home. Additionally, the Council sponsors the RAGEF program  (Residents Association Gift to Employee Fund) which distributes Christmas checks to all hourly team members.

BELVOIR WOODS HEALTH CARE CENTER FAMILY COUNCIL

The BWHCC Family Council is a non-profit organization, granted 501 (c) (4) status by the IRS, founded in June 2009.  We are made up of families, guardians, and friends of current, former, and future 3rd floor skilled nursing and rehab residents. The BWHCC Family Council is independent of the management and staff of the Belvoir Woods Health Care Center at The Fairfax.

Our goal is to identify and attempt resolution of non-resident specific issues in a manner that is positive, proactive, and solutions based. The BWHCC Family Council strives to provide families with a venue for addressing collective concerns, so they may focus their individual time and energy on their loved ones’ specific care requirements and overall quality of life.   We hope through our experience we can be of assistance to you.
