been formed to assist all Fairfax residents who are entitled to vote via
absentee ballots under Virginia law. The purpose is to assist residents who may
be visually or mobility handicapped to be able to vote at their residence, as
opposed to traveling to assigned polling stations. This would reduce
transportation requirements and the burden on limited polling place staff and
equipment. The committee’s activities have been expanded to include: (a)
assisting residents in registering to vote; (b) requesting applications for
absentee ballots; and, (c) assisting residents in completing their ballots in
the actual voting process. The committee may also be considered a liaison link
